Electrical Project Planning Guide
A short checklist before you arrange electrical work in the Spokane area.
Prepare for the first call
Write down the property address, the problem or the planned installation, the equipment involved and any timing or access limits. Use information you already have. Do not remove covers or touch wiring to collect details.
Agree the scope
Ask whether the first visit is a paid assessment, a quote appointment or scheduled work. Ask for a clear written scope and which materials, permits, inspections and finishing work are included. If anything changes during the job, ask how extra work and its price will be agreed before it starts.
Permits and inspections
Washington Labor & Industries says electrical work generally requires a permit and inspection, with some exceptions. When you hire an electrical contractor, that contractor must buy its own permits for its work. The right permit office depends on the jobsite: some cities run their own programs and other jobsites use L&I. Confirm who handles it for your address before work begins.
